HIGH FIVE Sport Trainings
HIGH FIVE Sport
HIGH FIVE Sport is a four-hour on-demand training that helps coaches understand healthy child development, children’s motivations to participate in sport, and the importance of lifelong play. The training addresses the key barriers girls face in long-term participation in sport, including lack of quality, enjoyment, and confidence.
PHCD QUEST 1
This two-hour online training for supervisors and managers provides access to templates for 86 policies and procedures in key risk areas including hiring, emergency management, program planning, and report tracking. The templates support a child-centred approach to service delivery and operations in order to minimize risk.
PHCD QUEST 2
This training helps supervisors improve risk management in children’s programs by learning how to assess and measure quality with the HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 Tool. Learners will also be given the tools to debrief the results of the assessments with staff in a positive way and create a process for continuous improvement.
PHCD Trainer
This two-day training is designed for leaders responsible for training staff within their organization and those interested in helping deliver PHCD training to other agencies within their community. Learners must have already completed PHCD, HIGH FIVE Sport, QUEST 1, and QUEST 2 training prior to registering to become a trainer.
HIGH FIVE Sport - Additional Learning
After completing HIGH FIVE Sport, learners will gain access to four additional complimentary modules.
Engaging Girls Aged 9 to 15
When girls participate in positive sport experiences, they learn more than just sport-specific skills. This module will help coaches better engage girls aged 9 to 15 by providing an understanding of equity and inclusion in sport, and reviewing key elements of girls’ social, physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
