Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
HIGH FIVE® Healthy Minds for Healthy Children is a 1-hour online training and downloadable resource to help those working with children positively influence their mental health. The training builds on the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development with expert content from Dr. Stanley Kutcher and Dr. Wayne Hammond. The training provides engagement strategies for nurturing resiliency in children and offers insights into common mental health distress or disorders that children could be experiencing.
Learner Outcomes
At the completion of this training, learners will be able to:
- Use engagement strategies with children who may be suffering from mental health conditions
- Use a Strength Based Decision Making Model to engage children
- Communicate with children and parents about sensitive topics

This training is available complimentary only after completing HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport
Pre-Requisite: Now offered to anyone who might be working with children
Audience: Program Leaders, Lifeguards, Coaches, Instructors, Counsellors, Managers, Supervisors, Educators

Training participants who have completed PHCD or HIGH FIVE Sport training can access Healthy Minds for Healthy Children through the following steps:
- Go to www.HIGHFIVE.org
- Log into the Database (if you do not have Login and Password, you can email your Authorized Provider to get a new Login and Password)
- Once logged in, go to ‘Person’ tab followed by ‘View my Profile’ tab
Select the ‘Training’ tab - Under ‘Available Training’ you should see your training, click on ‘Take the Training’
- You will be re-directed to ‘My Learning’ platform, click on ‘HIGH FIVE’, followed by ‘My Courses’, then select your training
